What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else the day after tomorrow. मृत्यु ज्ञात हो जाने पर क्या करें?


मृत्यु ज्ञात हो जाने पर क्या करें? यह बड़ा गंभीर प्रश्न है। मनुष्य अपने जीवनकाल में इस तरह व्यवहार करता है कि वह कभी मरेगा नहीं लेकिन मृत्यु को अटल सत्य है। श्रीमद् भागवत में लिखा है कि यदि मृत्यु ज्ञात हो जाए तो उससे बचना का नहीं सुधारने का प्रयास करना चाहिए। इसे कोई भी बदल नहीं सका है। भगवान ने जब धरती पर मनुष्य रूप में जन्म लिया तो उन्हें भी जीवन-मरण का खेल खेलना पड़ा।

इस संदर्भ में श्रीमद् भागवत में एक छोटी सी कथा का वर्णन आया है जो कि न सिर्फ मृत्यु का भय समाप्त करती है अपितु यह भी बताती है कि कुछ ही समय में कैसे मोक्ष प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। भागवत में उल्लेख है कि किसी समय अयोध्या में सूर्यवंशी राजा खट्वांग राज्य करते थे। उनकी कीर्ति स्वर्ग तक पहुंच गई। देवताओं का सहयोग करने से इंद्र आदि देव उनके आभारी हो गए। मृत्यु के कुछ ही क्षण पहले इंद्र के द्वारा खट्वांग राजा को यह पता लगा मेरी मृत्यु में दो चार घड़ी शेष हैं तो खट्वांग राजा तुरंत स्वर्ग से उतरकर अयोध्या आए। दान दक्षिणा दी। वैराग्य लिया। सरयू तट पर तप किया और योग क्रिया द्वारा अपने शरीर को मुक्त कर दिया तथा मोक्ष को प्राप्त किया।

इस पूरी कथा से आशय है कि राजा खटवांग बड़े पराक्रमी थे लेकिन उन्होंने भी मृत्यु से बचने की अपेक्षा उसे सुधारने का ही प्रयास किया। अत: हमें भी मृत्यु से भय न रखते हुए उसे सुधारने का प्रयास करना चाहिए।

Every living thing born in this world has to die one day. Some people say death is simply the shedding of physical body. Although, everyone knows death is imminent but still they are scared of it.
According to scriptures, there are many signs which indicate that death is near. One such sign is if the sandalwood paste applied on your forehead doesn't dry quickly.
It is believed that if the sandalwood paste doesn't dry quickly on the forehead then that person will die soon. Some people advice this to know if any person is about to die.
There is a scientific reason behind this belief, as a person's forehead temperature dips first when he is about to die. As a result the sandalwood paste takes longer to dry. Such a person should take better care of his/her health.

Death is not the end. Death is really a beginning—another step forward in Heavenly Father’s plan for His children. Someday, like everyone else, your physical body will die. But your spirit does not die, it goes to the spirit world, where you will continue to learn and progress and may be with loved ones who have passed on.
Death is a necessary step in your progression, just as your birth was. Sometime after your death, your spirit and your body will be reunited—never to be separated again. This is called resurrection, and it was made possible by the death and Resurrection
