"He who has not first turned away from wickedness, who is not tranquil and subdued and whose mind is not at peace, cannot attain Atman. It is realised only through the Knowledge of Reality." Katha Upanishad Part 1, Chapter 2, verse 24
All life is an experience to provide us with Self knowledge. To see ourselves in all beings and all beings in ourselves is the essence of life:
"The yogi whose mind is harmonized by Yoga, looks on all with an equal eye, sees the self present in all beings as assumed in the self" Bhagwad Gita, Chap 6, verse 29
"That yogi is regarded as the supreme, who looks on all as one, on the analogy of his own body and who looks at pleasure and pain of all with a similar eye" Bhagwad Gita, Chap 6, verse 32
Hence from the highest standpoint, there is no birth and no death, no one who is born and no one who dies, there is only the unborn, perfect and infinite Self nature, beyond all limitations and possessed of all powers of Self manifestations."As dreams, illusions and castles in the air are viewed, so is the tangible universe viewed by the wise, well versed in Vedanta. There is neither dissolution nor creation, none in bondage and none practicing disciplines. There is none seeking Liberation and none liberated. This is the absolute truth. Atman is imagined as the unreal objects that are perceived to exist and as Non-duality as well. The objects, too, are imagined in the non-dual Atman. Therefore Non-duality is Bliss. The diversity in the universe does not exist as an entity identical With Atman, nor does it exist by itself. Neither is it separate from Brahman nor is it non-separate. This is the statement of the wise. The wise, who are free from attachment, fear and anger and are well versed in the Vedas, have realized Atman as devoid of all phantasms and free from the illusion of the manifold and as non-dual." Mandukya Upanishad, Chapter 2 , verse 32 -35
Liberation is beyond all states of body and mind and not limited by them. It is everything and nothing, everyone and no one. A liberated soul possesses divine qualities such as purity, omnipresence, omnipotence, and is beyond limitations. Moksha is attained when the individual becomes liberated from the cycle of birth and death.
"Having realized Atman, which is soundless, intangible, formless, undecaying and likewise tasteless, eternal and odorless; having realized That which is without beginning and end, beyond the Great and unchanging-one is freed from the jaws of death."
