We have to accept certain inevitable aspects of life for self-control, spiritual endeavour and for befitting inner ambience. Although these aspects are essential and unavoidable, but most of us keep our eyes closed and stay in denial. The constant avoidance of these well grounded facts causes a lot of mental disturbances. One should practice to unload the mind with unnecessary riddles. 'Lord Buddha' in- his 'Anguttar-Nikay'' guides the mankind to have a better inner atmosphere. These five sayings should be paid heed by all men, women.
1. Old-age will slowly and gradually come one day and I cannot spare myself from being old.
2. Illness will attack some day and I cannot spare myself from being ill.
3. Death will definitely arrive someday and I cannot spare myself from being dead.
4. The objects, things, articles and individuals whom I love the most, are mortal and changeable, their disunion is unavoidable, and I cannot revert them.
5. I am the requital of my own karmas, whether pious or impious, I am and I will be the inheritor of the same.
These five sayings of Lord Buddha can help in following way:
1. Acceptance of arrival of old-age can reduce the egotism of youth
2. Acceptance of attack of diseases can reduce the egotism of good health.
3. Acceptance of death can reduce the egotism of life
4. The acceptance of the fact of disunion of near and dears can reduce the egotism of being the authority
5. Acceptance of the fact that I am the requital of my karmas can divert me from sinful attitude and tendencies.
One who considers these five guidelines can eliminate the ego or the 'I' ness and can go ahead on the path of 'Nirvana'● राम राम हरे हरे!!●
