Know who can perform Shraadh in son’s absenceAccording to Hindu scriptures, the son should perform the rituals after any person's death. The son should perform shraadh and pinddan. Scriptures say that if a person doesn't have a son then there are no other options.

- If the person doesn't have son then his wife can perform these rituals.

- If the person doesn't even have a wife then his brother can do the needful.

- If a person has more than one son then his eldest son should perform these rituals.

- Daughter's husband or son can also perform these rituals.

- Even great grandson can perform these rituals.

- If a person doesn’t have son, grandson or great grandson then a widow can perform this.

- If the person doesn't have son, grandson or great grandson then his nephew can perform these rituals.

- Adopted son can also perform this ritual.

- If a person has no relative then the king should perform these rituals.
